SAN DIEGO — Well here we are, a day later than expected but inside the friendly confines of Qualcomm’s press box anyway.
Current temperature: Somewhere in the mid-60’s.
Press box fare: Nothing for free — the first pay for food box I’ve been in this season. A definite thumbs-down from this college reporter.

Oregon saw Saint Mary’s lead grow to 10 points with 17:25 left in the game after Carlin Hughes hit a three on a pass from Patrick Mills. Then Diamon Simpson posted up and hit a layup to push the lead to 49-37 with 17:10 to go.

The Oregon men’s basketball team (4-5) are playing the Saint Mary’s Gaels (7-1) tonight at McArthur Court. The Ducks, who are coming off a frustrating 64-57 loss to San Diego in the Pape Jam in Portland on Dec. 13 look to get back on the winning track against sophomore sensation Patrick Mills and the Gaels.
