Oregon Acrobatics and Tumbling crowned National Champions

On Saturday evening, the #1 Oregon Acrobatics and Tumbling team faced off against #2 Maryland in the finals of the Acrobatics and Tumbling National Championship. I sent freelance photographer Jamie Lay out into the fray to capture the action as the Ducks’ took home the title at Matt Knight Arena.

City of bridges

I’m visiting home in Portland, Oregon admiring from afar the great work already put out this weekend by Aaron Marineau and Rachelle Hacmac. After shooting the Nike Hoop Summit at the Rose Garden I decided to go for a walk around the area, camera in hand, to take in the beautiful City of Bridges. I included my favorite photo below.

Oregon track and field wins Pepsi Invitational at Hayward Field

Oregon track and field dominated the Pepsi Invitational today with Oregon sweeps in the women’s 400 and 800 meter races, and the men’s 1,500 and  5,000 meter races.

Final meet totals:

Women: Oregon 206, Nebraska 192, Stanford 146, Washington 122

Men: Oregon 194, Nebraska 184, Washington158, Stanford 122

Acrobatics and tumbling national championship, #1 Oregon vs. #4 Baylor

Oregon and Baylor competed to advance to the next round of the 2011 NCATA (National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association) National Championship. Oregon’s final score was 280.290, Baylor with 276.873. Oregon will face Maryland tomorrow (Saturday) at 8pm at Matthew Knight Arena.

Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters’ Bus

Senior Leigh Holliday examines the psychedelically painted roof of Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters' bus that stopped on campus Thursday afternoon.

Merry Prankster Kimbirlee Miller hula hoops outside the bus named "Further" that came to campus to support the possibility of the University purchasing the Ken Kesey Collection that includes original manuscripts, artwork and photographs.

Original Merry Prankster George Walker has been driving Further for the past 47 years.

Curious onlookers peer into the bus that traveled across the country with Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters. The bus made a stop on campus Thursday afternoon to support the possibility of the University purchasing the Ken Kesey Collection.

“A Toast to Jello”

Betsy Credle looks at "Toasted Marsh Jello" by Queen Scarlett at the "A Toast to Jello" art show held at the Maude Kerns Art Center. Originally started by a group of artists called, "The Radar Angels," the annual art show is in its 22nd year.
