Band-Aid Baseball Blog

Since we’ve only got 8 pages a day, photography work is relegated to this lovely blog.  Here is some of my work from the past few days at PK Park.  Baseball is a tricky sport to shoot. Because the player positions are relatively static, making a creative picture is often difficult (maybe just for me). I’m getting better at photographing this sport, but there is still something that trips me up.  I haven’t quite figured it out yet. Gesture Identity

You can tell a lot about how someone gestures. Watching University of Oregon Presidential candidate Richard Lariviere speak, I noticed he gestured with his hands in small motions. I thought it was interesting. He had a pretty nice tie, too. What do you think?

Metal Concert Promotes OSPIRG

The Athiarchists (Thanks Commentator!) put on a late-night heavy metal concert in the EMU Amphitheater, Mar. 4, 2009, drawing a crowd of interested students that stayed until the final minutes before the city’s nighttime noise ordinance set in at 10 p.m. The concert was intended to raise awareness of the University’s funding-troubled OSPIRG group, according to OSPIRG spokesman Rich Hastings. OSPIRG is attempting to increase its visibility on campus as it struggles to salvage funding recently cut by the ASUO.

Ducks, Pandas and Cardboard Cutouts

Shooting the basketball this year was an experience. Sitting through the most dismal season in Oregon history, Mac Court truly got to see who its all-weather fans were. The Pit Crew is part of this tradition; though rain, sleet, snow and dubiously bad records, the Pit Crew area is always full of energized fans. 

I went through the servers and pulled the most interesting Pit Crew photos I could find. Maybe you can find yourself somewhere in there…

Latex Fashion

The University’s second World AIDs Day Condom Fashion Show filled the EMU Ballroom to capacity. Over 100,000 condoms went into the making of the outfits.  Here are some of the images from both backstage and the runway.
