Baseball: Portland 4, Oregon 2

The Pilots defeated Oregon in a midweek game Wednesday evening at PK Park. After 5 1/3 innings of solid pitching by freshman Porter Clayton, Jeff Gold and Scott McGough gave up 1 and 2 runs respectively in 1/3 innings each. Oregon was unable to overcome the lead and succumbed 4-2.

The Wildcats defeated Oregon in the second game of the series Friday night at PK Park. At the top of the seventh inning, Johnny Field of Arizona blasted a solo home run over the left field wall. Oregon struggled at the plate, tying a season-low with three hits.

It’s track and field season again, as the Oregon Relays kicked off today another great day in the Oregon track tradition during a beautiful Eugene day at Hayward Field. Here are a few of photographer Michael Ciaglo and I’s frames from the first day:
