The Athiarchists (Thanks Commentator!) put on a late-night heavy metal concert in the EMU Amphitheater, Mar. 4, 2009, drawing a crowd of interested students that stayed until the final minutes before the city’s nighttime noise ordinance set in at 10 p.m. The concert was intended to raise awareness of the University’s funding-troubled OSPIRG group, according to OSPIRG spokesman Rich Hastings. OSPIRG is attempting to increase its visibility on campus as it struggles to salvage funding recently cut by the ASUO.

Were coming back this saturday!! Another concert in support of OSPIRG…11AM…same place as before…This is us calling out all the big talking students behind their computer screens, including ring leader CJ Ciaramella(that started the whole online blog battle by saying we were “Eugene’s crappiest metal band), all the people that said our fans were fat single mothers, anyone that was involved in the whole battle we went through last time we did this, anyone that made comments on my orange shorts, and my white pasty skin complexion?, that said we were eugenes crappiest metal band and then back-peddled and said we were still better than 95% of the bands in Eugene, all the people that threatened us behind their computer screens, its on, lets battle global warming!!!
these are some of the best pictures we have gotten for awhile, but come on, whats wrong with the orange shorts ben? Is there a dress code that I’m not following, please, fill me in. Oh that’s right, your idea of metal is probably upside down crosses, all black, and spikes. Just wait until I show up next time in blue pants, a pink shirt, and size 20 shoes.
Damn but can you kids pull in a crowd. Lookit all them people up out there! You almost got what—three attendees! Just so you understand, people that walk by the amphitheater aren’t “interested”, they’re trying to get away from your sound.
nothing says metal like those orange shorts and that pasty white complexion. rock on.
