Nora Simon is a University of Oregon senior from Manhattan, Kan., majoring in news-editorial journalism and history. Before becoming editor in chief at the Oregon Daily Emerald, she worked as a copy editor and was previously special sections editor at the University Daily Kansan. She is a voracious reader of all things journalism-related and is writing her thesis on the telegraph’s effect on 19th century journalism. In her so-called spare time, she enjoys raging over bad grammar and baking cakes. Her favorite book is “Eats Shoots and Leaves.”
