Men's Basketball
First half, Stanford vs. Oregon live blog
One big name here today is Mike Bellotti. Everybody else seems to be in Moraga for baseball.
Everybody’s warming up for Oregon today. Wiley, Longmire and Odia have been expected to be back for today’s game after concussions last week, and Teondre Williams may play after an eye infection and academic issues this week kept him [...]
Pregame: Oregon men vs. Stanford; the search for No. 1
Pregame, 25 minutes until tipoff at McArthur Court on today, Saturday, Feb. 21. Both teams are going through warmups, and wanted to tell those of you who stuck around this blog from Kevin’s full-throttle baseball coverage that we’ll be doing the same thing for basketball today.
Can the Ducks get win No. 1 in the Pac-10 [...]
Oregon @ St. Mary's 2/21/09 Game 2
The only differences for the Ducks in the second game is freshman Darrell Hunter starting at third, batting eighth, and Rodriguez goes back behind the plate with Karraker playing first.
The Ducks went down in order in their half of the first and Whitmore retired the Gaels 1-2-3 in the bottom half.
I’m off to go cover [...]
Oregon @ St. Mary's 2/21/09 1st of two games
I’ll be back on the blog today from first pitch to last out of the first game. After that I’m off to cover the men’s basketball game at Mac court, but I’ll do my best to give inning by inning updates until then.
Yesterday’s win was a nice accomplishment for this team, I just worry that [...]
Catching up with Jay John before the Cal game

About 10 minutes ago, I caught up with Jay John, the current Cal assistant and former OSU head coach. I wrote a column about the different direction he has taken since last year at this time (when [...]

The Ducks, who are coming off a frustrating 64-57 loss to San Diego in the Pape Jam in Portland on Dec. 13 look to get back on the winning track against sophomore sensation Patrick Mills and the Gaels.
The [...]
Arena naming just the beginning…
OK, so what happened today.
I was at the Rose Garden this morning, (it’s winter break at UO, so 11 a.m. on a Saturday — when I have to be back at the Garden tonight at 4 for the Pape Jam) for the announcement of the naming of Oregon’s new arena. It’s going to be called [...]
Ducks cruise past Alabama
Oregon’s men’s basketball team looked terrible in the first seven minutes against Alabama in the Maui Invitational’s first round.
Then something happened. I believe it was the bench play, namely Matt Humphrey to start everything going well. That seemed to ignite the starters, like Michael Dunigan and especially Joevan Catron.
And how about the resolve of this [...]
