Women’s basketball trails No. 2 Stanford 54-50 at halftime

The Ducks came out firing in this one, and trail by just four at the half. Nia Jackson is on her to way to a new career high in points, having already tallied 18 to lead the team. Surprisingly, she is the only Duck player in double figures, but a number of other players are still off to solid starts. The team’s energy level has been impressive so far, and the full court press has already forced 11 Stanford turnovers. Oregon’s speed has clearly bothered the Cardinal to some degree, and we’ll have to wait and see if Stanford comes out with any adjustments. Nnemkadi Ogwumike leads the Cardinal with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while star center Jane Appel dealt with foul trouble throughout the first half. Stanford is shooting a blistering 57.1% from the field, while Oregon is shooting 43.2%. The Ducks certainly have a chance to take control of this game, we will see how they start the half.
