After a month of waiting and a long day of traveling we’ve finally made it to Los Angeles for the 2010 Rose Bowl matchup between the No. 7 Oregon Ducks and No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes. The other Oregon Daily Emerald sports staff members and myself have gotten all of the small stuff taken care of today as far as getting checked into the designated media hotel in downtown LA, and also getting our credentials printed off for the week ahead.
And for me personally, tonight will be one of the biggest highlights of the trip — as well as my sporting life — when Ben, Robert and I travel down the road to the Staples Center to watch the LA Lakers take on the Golden State Warriors. For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been a huge Laker fan since I was nine years old and it’s always been my dream to see Kobe Bryant play in person before he retires. So tonight will be a close second to Friday’s Rose Bowl for me.
Should be a pretty wild week for all of us overall, it’s just starting to sink in that we are actually here getting to do all of this. So stay tuned for more blogs and articles up on the Daily Emerald website for more extensive coverage throughout the week.
