The Ducks closed out Arizona State with a 25-20 third set win, sweeping the match and heading into this week on a high note. Sonja Newcombe and Heather Meyers played the starring roles on offense, as Newcombe hit .394 with 14 kills and Meyers hit .393 with 13 kills. Freshman libero Kellie Kawasaki had another strong performance, finishing with 18 digs, while senior setter Nevena Djordjevic also had a strong showing with 38 assists and 11 digs. Arizona State hit just .083 as a team, and often looked overmatched on the floor. The Ducks really needed this one after a poor showing against Arizona on Friday night, and were clearly relieved to have bounced back so nicely.
