The Ducks could not carry over the momentum they gained in a first set win. Rourke tallied 8 more kills, and continues to keep the Beavers afloat. Oregon State out-hit the Ducks .342-.158 in the second set, and are also out-hitting the Ducks overall by 100 percentage points, .270-.170. Newcombe still leads the Ducks with 13 kills, but the rest of the team will have to start hitting better in order for the Ducks to prevail. Senior middle blocker Neticia Enesi has 6 kills but is hitting .000 through two sets. Junior outside hitter Heather Meyers and freshman outside hitter Katherine Fischer are also struggling somewhat, hitting .190 and .062 respectively. Freshman libero Kellie Kawasaki is off to another strong start, and already has 14 digs. This Oregon State squad is clearly better than its record indicates, and this has the look of another five-set affair judging by how events have transpired so far.
