Obama bans texting while driving for government personnel

The executive order covers more than 4.5 million government employees, including postal workers and the military. Texting while driving on average injures 500,000 people per year in the U.S. It should be noted however, that under the law, government employees can still potentially get away with texting while driving: If they are driving their own vehicles off-duty. This is just one more step taken by the Distracted Driving Summit to stamp out…distracted driving.
