The Oregon football team will hold Todd Doxey’s No. 29 through the 2011 season–the season in which the defensive back would have graduated.
Doxey drowned in the McKenzie River last summer after he jumped off a bridge into the water. He was slated with the second unit to begin the 2008-2009 season. That season a different Oregon player wore his No. 29 to commemorate his life. After the 2011 season, the number will be reopened for other athletes to wear again.
