The Summer Student Senate will meet at 6:20 p.m. tonight and, for the first time in the memory of anyone I’ve spoken with, the meeting will not be in the EMU Board Room. Instead, it’s moved to 209 Deady. The tight cloisters, round table format and limited seating space have wracked many a presenter’s nerves, and my colleague Robert D’Andrea wrote a column earlier this summer arguing for a change in the meetings’ location.
Notice, too, that the location of the meetings is one subject up for debate at the meeting. Here’s the program:
1. Call to order
2. Approval of the agenda
3. Approval of Minutes 07/01/09
4. Old Business
a. Working Groups
5. New Business
a. Location of 2009 – 2010 Senate
6. Announcements
7. Adjourn
I have never been to a Senate meeting in Deady, if that’ what you mean. But I’ve been to Senate meetings in the law school at least three times, in the river rooms once and the infamous thumbs up/thumbs down overrealized meeting in the Walnut Room.
