Justin Roper Transfers to Montana

Former Oregon quarterback Justin Roper has decided that he is going to Montana to finish out his eligibility.

“This is a school that has great people, that wins and that gives me an opportunity to pursue my NFL potential,” Roper, who also considered Towson and UMass, said in a post on ESPN.com.

Roper, who played well this spring as the No. 2 QB on Oregon’s depth chart, was granted his release in May. He can be remembered for leading the Ducks to a 2008 Sun Bowl win after filling in for injured quarterbacks Dennis Dixon, Brady Leaf, Nate Costa and Cody Kempt.
