Oregon women’s lacrosse earned its 11th win Sunday by beating Saint Mary’s 17-10 in Moraga, Calif.
The newly ranked, No. 18 Ducks (11-4) lost to Cal on Friday 13-12 on overtime to lose the team’s first game since March 26. Its 11th win ties the UO record for regular season wins with last season’s team.
The Ducks outscored the Gaels 9-3 by halftime and 8-7 in the second half.
Six Ducks scored, led by freshman Catherine Davidson’ four goals and one assist to tie for a team-high five points. Freshman Bina Barrett took advantage of more playing time to score two goals and had three assists.
Oregon played all three of its goalies to spread the minutes around, with Anna Poponyak playing the entire first half before giving way to Sam Debow and Hannah Jones in the second.
Oregon led 4-0 before the Gaels scored, which started the Ducks on two more goals.
In the second half Oregon scored four straight goals to pull ahead 13-5 with 13:28 remaining in the game.
The game was Oregon’s final regular-season contest of the season before playing in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament beginning Wednesday in Palo Alto, Calif.
The Ducks bounced back from a 13-12 loss to Cal in three overtimes in Berkeley on Friday. It wasn’t in spite of Jana Drummond, who set an Oregon record with seven goals in the game. Her last gave Oregon a 12-11 lead in the second overtime.
Ilsa van den Berg scored two points that make her the program’s all-time leader in points, passing assistant coach and former teammate Jen Derby, with 186 points.
