Quincy, Quincy, Quincy

Quincy Pondexter has simply matured, Washington coach Lorenzo Romar said after Thursday’s win over Mississippi State.
As today’s Purdue vs. Washington game gets closer to the end, the Huskies are looking for the lead they’ve never had today. Purdue has been up by as many as 14 points in the first half, when the Huskies did little to help themselves, shooting 35 percent for 28 points, down by 11.
But don’t blame it on Pondexter.
With 18 points for the Huskies today so far with 4:19 remaining, it’s clear the junior has done a whole lot of everything that have taken UW this far, so far.
You can’t ask more from the junior from Fresno, Calif., who has grabbed seven rebounds, had two assists and two fouls.
He scored 10 points in the first half on 4-of-7 shooting, the lone bright spot for his team.
Isaiah Thomas has come back to score a team-high 24 points so far for the Huskies, but it’s been Quincy when they need him. Even moreso than Jon Brockman, who has his 60th straight double-double, tops in the nation.
Now, can Quincy close?
