Oregon @ St. Mary's 2/21/09 1st of two games

I’ll be back on the blog today from first pitch to last out of the first game. After that I’m off to cover the men’s basketball game at Mac court, but I’ll do my best to give inning by inning updates until then.

Yesterday’s win was a nice accomplishment for this team, I just worry that they did it in a way that conflicts with the style they want to play. They pitched well but not exceedingly well, they booted a few balls on defense and the big rally in the fifth started when Tommasini couldn’t get a bunt down to advance Pulfer but managed to slap a single on an 0-2 count. That was followed by an RBI double and triple. Not exactly “Horton baseball” as it’s been described by the coach: pitch, defend and manufacture runs.
