Catching up with Jay John before the Cal game

It’s about 40 minutes until tipoff here at McArthur Court before the Cal and Oregon men’s basketball game. About 10 minutes ago, I caught up with Jay John, the current Cal assistant and former OSU head coach. I wrote a column about the different direction he has taken since last year at this time (when he was fired from OSU, see link) and wanted to thank him for the interview. I had a lot of fun talking with him for the brief time; he’s an honestly approachable guy who was cool enough to talk with a student journalist.
