Oregon jumped out to start the half, getting two layups from freshman Amanda Johnson, then another by freshman Jasmin Holliday to give the Ducks a 31-26 lead with 17:15 to go in the game. But the lead didn’t last long, as the Wildcats scored six straight, capped by a three from Ashley Frazier, giving Arizona a 32-31 lead. The teams then traded threes, first from Micaela Cocks for Oregon, then Reiko Thomas for Arizona with 15:11 left in the game.
Lilley gave the lead back to the Ducks at 41-38 with 13:40 to go on a three coming off a screen, and post Ellyce Ironmonger added to it with a turnaround jumper with six seconds to go on the shot clock with 12:35 left. Two free throws from Lindsey Saffold a minute later pushed the lead to 47-40 for Oregon.
The next few minutes were back and forth with Oregon maintaining a seven point lead. After Lilley went out with 8:05 with her fourth foul of the game, the Ducks responded. Cocks stole the inbounds pass and freshman Darriel Gaynor scored on a running layup with 7:46 to go.
On the next possession, Ibekwe was called for an offensive foul, and Holliday added another two points to the Ducks lead, making it 53-44 with 6:49 left in the second half. Ibekwe wouldn’t let the Wildcats die though, as she scored the next four points for Arizona, closing the gape to 53-48 with five minutes to go in the game.
Two Ibekwe free throws narrowed the gap to four with 3:45 to go at 55-51. A minute later, she added another, giving her 25 points in the game, and closed Oregon’s lead to two points at 55-53. Oregon answered in a big way, getting a kick out three from Johnson, pushing the lead to 58-53 with two minutes to go. Manou added a layup on the next possession with 1:30 to go, advancing the lead back to seven.
Arizona started fouling after their next missed possession, four freethrows from Cocks and a three from Lilley gave the final margin and the win to Oregon. Final score 68-55 Ducks.
