3 minutes to kickoff at the Holiday Bowl as OSU runs on the field

Much more fans this time.

Three minutes to kickoff. I’m going to try to keep this thing as up to date as possible during the game, but I’m also trying to write three stories tonight so it might be halted due to trying to put together those pieces.

Nonetheless, kickoff just happened, and this place is ready to go. About 3/4 full here, which still means around 50,000 here. Not bad. Big cheers to both sides when they were announced, and Jeremiah Johnson made it a point to run in front of the east endzone in front of the Oregon contingent and get them to get loud.

5:17 p.m.: The ‘Pokes moved the ball easily, with five first downs on the drive. Plays of 12, 11 and 13 in a row put the ball from the OK State 19 to the Oregon 45 in three plays flat. OK State then hit a field goal on fourth-and-6 from 45 yards out to make it 3-0.

5:26: On its first play of the game, Oregon had a nifty pass from Masoli to Maehl in the flat, who ran it back to the middle of the field and pitched it to Masoli, who hit speedy Jamere Holland downfield for a 47-yard gain. All the momentum in the world, right? Not quite. Everything was negated by three unsuccessful plays that led to a Josh Syria punt that was downed on the OK State 1.

5:37: Meanwhile, OK State is rolling. The Cowboys had 9 first downs through their first 19 plays of the game at one point during their second drive. Not far after, Zac Robinson hit Dez Bryant for a 33-yard touchdown pass on first-and-10 to put OK State up by 10. The drive started on their own 1-yard line for OK State.

5:44: Jeremiah Johnson, first play, 76-yards winding and weaving down the sidelines of both teams. Oregon 7, OSU 10.
