Third Quarter: Oregon 44, Oregon State 31

6:25 p.m.: The mic of the head referee was kept on the entire time of his discussion with Beavers’ head coach Mike Riley and the other referees, which was fed into the press box the entire time. Some interesting jibber jabber between the refs and Riley. He was talking pretty frankly about how the play could not be reviewed, then got some help from another ref (“There’s been some miscommunication here”) before they talked with Riley, who, of course, wanted to challenge it.

Turned out, it wasn’t even a challengeable play. Laughs from the press box were heard.

After that happened, Sammie Stroughter was hit for a 47-yard pass to the Duck 5-yard line that set up a three-yard pass to Joe Halahuni. It was his first reception as a Beaver and his first of the season, which turned out to be a touchdown.

6:51 p.m.: Oregon State marched down the field on eight plays in 3:12 to score and make it 44 Oregon, 31 Oregon State
