No. 8 Oregon vs. No. 5 Washington: Set 3

The Ducks again took the early advantage, going up 4-2 behind two blocks from Neticia Enesi. Enesi was everywhere for the Ducks through the first 13 points they scored. She had two kills and five blocks, helping Oregon to a 13-8 lead.

But the Huskies stuck around and came back from the five point deficit, going on a 6-2 run to get within one. Oregon didn’t break; however, and they responded with a 4-2 run to get the lead back up to four points.

Then Washington took the lead with a block at 22-21, after an error by Heather Meyers let the Huskies tie the game at 21. And with the Huskies up 23-22, Oregon tied the game at 23 and 24, and even had a chance to win the set up 25-24. What followed was a back and forth battle by both squads, with Newcombe and Maricic stepping up for Oregon. However, it was the Huskies who won the match, after Newcombe let a serve fall because she thought it was wide. Final score: 31-29 Washington, up two sets to one going into the fourth set.
