The 14-4 Utah Utes are in Eugene for a non-conference match with the Oregon Ducks. The Utes are currently in second place in the Mountain West Conference, a half game behind 17-2 Colorado State.
This is the kind of opponent the Ducks need as they look forward to the second half of the Pacific-10 schedule. Utah has been receiving votes in the top 25 for the past few weeks, and a tough non-conference game will benefit Jim Moore’s team once they reach the NCAA tournament.
Of note, junior captain Sonja Newcombe is dressed down and participated fully in warmups. No word yet if she will start or not.
