Ducks take first set 39-37

The first set of this match proved to be epic, with the teams trading points again and again until the Ducks finally pulled through 39-37. Oregon State’s Rachel Rourke is again proving to be a force to be reckoned with. The senior has already tallied 15 kills and is hitting .303 so far. The Ducks had numerous chances to close out the set earlier, but Rourke refused to give in, bringing her team back from the edge again and again. Newcombe leads the Ducks so far with 10 kills and a .417 hitting percentage.
