Therefore the Emerald's speculations are just that: speculation. Moreover, I find it morally repugnant to assume that my decisions reflect personal biases. The fact that Rachel Cushman was selected to attend USSA Congress had absolutely nothing to do with any reservations I had. To imply otherwise represents a breach of journalistic professionalism. I hope that the UO's delegation to USSA Congress will prove to be beneficial for the entire campus. In the future, I would hope the Emerald would check facts and ask direct questions before committing such enormous errors in publication. If anyone would like to know how I intended to vote, I would appreciate a simple, honest and direct answer. For the record, my vote was never cast.
