A hands-free cell phone requirement for all Oregon drivers has been approved by the Oregon Senate and is now on it’s way to the House for a final vote. Schillaci savages current admin
Schillaci said: “I will NOT be a resource that is disrespectfully used. The ASUO should have discussed this with me when it had the best chance to, not when it became most convenient to do so. It is shamefully disrespectful to me that I was thrown like a scrap of meat from Sam’s administration to Emma’s. It is not my job to serve students anymore, and what ASUO did [is doing] was [is] hurtful and rude. Organization would have benefited all involved parties.”

Time tough for Reed College
Reed College in Portland is refusing admission to students who need too much financial aid, the New York Times reports. It is a stark emblem of the recession’s pressures, as the Times’ Jonathan D. Glater points out, that a college known for its liberal values must take such a step. And you can tell that [...]
One in 3 UO students does not graduate in 6 years
According to a recent Department of Education study, only 65 percent of University of Oregon students graduate in six years. The relevant data are here under the “Retention/Graduation Rate” tab, juxtaposed with less impressive information about Oregon State University.
Those numbers, though, are above the national average — 53 percent of students at four-year universities get [...]
