Ashton Eaton places second in the decathlon at US Championships

Oregon’s Ashton Eaton placed second at the 2009 USA Championships at Hayward field today to punch his ticket to the World Championships in Berlin in August.

In the ten events Eaton posted a score of 8,075. It was just 186 points behind 2009 US Champion Trey Hardee of Nike. Eaton won the long jump, placed second in the 100m, high jump, the 400m, 110m hurdles, and third in the hurdles.
