Government moving to ease student loan pressure
The New York Times reported today that the federal government has been taking measures to decrease pressure from student loans. Among the provisions of the plan:
Reduction in payments on federal student loans based on the borrower’s income based on calculations explained here.

Former Oregon quarterback Justin Roper has decided that he is going to Montana to finish out his eligibility.

Ashton Eaton places second in the decathlon at US Championships
Oregon’s Ashton Eaton placed second at the 2009 USA Championships at Hayward field today to punch his ticket to the World Championships in Berlin in August.

Galen Rupp wins the USA 10,000 at the national championships
Galen Rupp won his final race at Hawyard Field tonight, beating out a loaded field for the 2009 National Championship in the 10,000 meters. Proposed Legislature Granting Oregon In-State Tuition to all Veterans
The senate has passed House Bill 2571 (with a 28-0 vote), granting honorable discharged veterans the ability to attend all public Oregon universities and colleges with in-state tuition.
