Wash. schools cut 9,000 students. Oregonian says UO MAY BE NEXT!!!
The Washington state legislature is debating budget cuts of almost $4 billion, which would include reducing enrollment at state schools by 9,000 students. The cuts will likely be approved before the legislative session ends Sunday.

KVAL reported Friday that, despite plans at OSU to cut as many as 12 of the school’s sports teams because of budget problems, the University of Oregon is not considering such a move, with an allusion in the story to donations by Nike honcho Phil Knight. Duck Baseball vs. UW Game Two
Washington was able to bring in two runs in the top of the ninth to seal the game for the Huskies. Erickson pitched the entire game for UW, he is now 2-4 on the year. The series will finish up tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.

Van Ornum sentenced
Former University student Ian Van Ornum, recently convicted of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, will serve 18 months probation, 80 hours of community service and owes $500 in court-appointed attorney fees.
Sentenced this morning in Lane County Circuit Court, Van Ornum had no visible reaction upon hearing Judge Jack Billings’ decision.

Oregon recruit Cliff Harris, a four-star cornerback who could be in line to take over some playing time with Jairus Byrd’s NFL defection, was arrested at a Fresno, Calif., high school Wednesday for felony assault.

The easygoing Hawaii native he is, Max Unger is trading the NFL Draft green room in New York City’s Radio City Music Hall for a subdued living room in Eugene on Saturday, hanging out with his family, who flew in Thursday, rather than commissioner Roger Goodell.
