Ducks on OSN schedule
If you didn’t catch the brief in today’s paper, Oregon Sports Network has announced a 13-game Oregon baseball TV schedule for the upcoming season. It’s a good thing for most people, considering how the stands at PK Park won’t have covering and you can bet there’s going to be a lot of rain this spring, [...]
Opportunity for free doughnuts
Last night, I missed much of the PFC hearing to attend a board meeting for the Emerald. It was wrenching. The newspaper industry is ailing, though considering you’re reading a blog right now, I assume you already knew that. Though these things are always clad in optimism, it felt to me like a hospice service.
Fortunately, [...]
Now I know more!
So it turns out it was a typo on the agenda. I just made an obtrusive, late night phone call to Alex McCafferty and he told me it was supposed to say “Seat 19.” Having to do that kind of thing makes me feel like a real geek.
Confusion and frustration
Monday’s Emerald article was one of the most frustrating I have ever had to write. Partially, that was because the news broke on a Sunday, which is when people have better things to do than answer phone calls from reporters who want to know about the ASUO. The truth was elusive. Nobody I was able [...]
Carbon Credit update.
Here’s some more clarification about the story I wrote in today’s paper, courtesy of an e-mail from Hailey Sheldon forwarded to me by Sam Dotters-Katz:
Hello Senate,
It has come to my attention that my stance during the OBETCredit discussion at Wednesday’s meeting was ill-informed. Unfortunately, I didn’t update my information before adding the agenda item. I [...]

Regards,
Sam

The Beavs steal one in Berkeley, and what does this mean for the Ducks?
The Beavers game against Cal last night wasn’t on TV, and for good reason, right?
Uh, maybe not after all. What I thought, and what most thought (I would believe) was that Cal, tied for first in the Pac-10, would roll over OSU, whose unthinkable win against USC in the first weekend of Pac-10 play was [...]
Job fair for potential NFL picks set
Football’s version of a job fair has been set for Oregon’s potential NFL Draft selectees in March and April. Andy McNamara of Oregon media services put up the notice about when Oregon’s seniors and juniors will have the chance to be evaluated in Eugene by NFL scouts.
The pro timing days will be held March 12 [...]
