Monday football practice: Cover boy Harper and the punter is what?
Both Kevin Hudson and I were at today’s football practice to talk with players about this week’s matchup. Kevin will have his midweek update in Wednesday’s issue of the Emerald, and he was speaking with a wide receiver to be named later for this week’s Athlete of the Week.
I spoke with this week’s GameDay cover [...]

This Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at McArthur Court, the Oregon’s men’s basketball team will hold a free intrasquad scrimmage that is open to the public. Oregon’s first exhibition game of the season is this Sunday against Northwest Christian University.
No. 7 Ducks Set to Take on Utah
The 14-4 Utah Utes are in Eugene for a non-conference match with the Oregon Ducks. The Utes are currently in second place in the Mountain West Conference, a half game behind 17-2 Colorado State.
This is the kind of opponent the Ducks need as they look forward to the second half of the Pacific-10 schedule. Utah [...]
Robinson, OSU on ESPN
If you didn’t know already, Barack Obama’s brother-in-law is the head coach of Oregon State’s men’s basketball team. Craig Robinson also has some merit of his own, of course. Two Ducks earn Pac-10 weekly honors; FSN picks up UO vs. Stanford
Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli and placekicker Matt Evansen were today named Pac-10 players of the week on offense and special teams, respectively. Masoli and Evensen were factors in Oregon’s 54-20 road win at Arizona State that propelled the Ducks back into the top-25 in the polls and BCS standings.
Masoli accounted for 232 yards total offense and two [...]
Ducks back in top-25 after win over ASU
The Oregon football team is back among the top-25 teams in the country on the heels of their 54-20 dismantling of the Sun Devils Saturday. They are No. 23 in the AP poll and No. 24 in the Coaches’ poll and the BCS standings
The Shape Of Things To Come
I recently watched the film I, Robot again, and despite its cautionary nature, it had the opposite intended effect. I want robots walking around outside. I want automated busses. I want robot pals that I can hang with, and complain about how much better reaction times they have than me when we play games.
My wish may be closer [...]
Saturated with greenwashing
“Actions speak louder than words.”
English Idiom
Apparently, it’s very easy being green. Everyone from computer manufacturers to television companies to tire companies is “going green,” and all the companies really want everyone to know it.
We’ve all seen them. It’s practically impossible to watch a commercial segment these days without seeing some kind of advertisement where someone [...]
